What We Believe
| 1. |
The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired of God, and are the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.(2 Tim. 3:15-17; 1 Pt. 1:23-25)
2.
The one true God has revealed Himself as self-existent, the creator of heaven and earth. He has also reveled Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Mt. 28:19; 1 Jn. 5:7)
3.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God (Col. 1:17; 1 Jn. 1:2). The Scriptures declare His virgin birth (Is. 7:14; Mt. 1:23), sinless life (Heb. 9:14), miracles (Mt.; Mk.; Lk.; Jn.), death on the cross (Mt. 27:26; Acts 2:36; Acts 10:39), resurrection from the dead (Mt. 20:19; Acts 4:10; Col. 1:18), His deity (Col. 1:16-17; Jn. 1:1-3), and that His coming again is imminent (1 Thes. 4:16-17; 2 Thes 2:1).
4.
Man was created in the image of God, but has fallen and incurred both physical and spiritual death. (Gen. 1:26-31; 3:1-7; Rom. 5:12-21).
5.
Man’s only hope of salvation is that which was wrought by Jesus Christ. This salvation is received by grace, through faith. (Ps. 103:3; Rom. 3:24, 10:8-10; Eph. 2:8)
6.
The ordinances of the church instituted by Christ Himself are the Holy Communion and the total immersion of baptism in water (1 Cor. 11:24-30; Mt. 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Rom. 6:4).
7.
All believers are entitled to and should expect and earnestly seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial physical evidence of speaking in other tongues. This is an endowment of God’s power from on high, an enabling to properly perform the call of God to Christian Service. (Lk. 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; 2:4; 2:38-39, 10:44-46, 11:14-16; 1 Cor. 12:1-31; ).
8.
The Scriptures also clearly teach that divine healing has been purchased by Jesus Christ. By his stripes we were healed. (Is. 53:4-5; Mt. 8:17; 1 Pt. 2:24).
