The desire of the Senior Care Ministry is to show the love of Christ to those living in rest homes who are sick in their bodies, lonely, and confused. We pray that they will be encouraged by the power of God’s Word, and that they will have God’s peace during a time of uncertainty.

We are excited to say that beginning this September we are expanding from two services a month to three services a month at Woodland Nursing & Rehabilitation. During these services we sing praise songs to the Lord, share encouraging words, and pray over the needs of the people.  Over the course of the last three years we have established relationships with the residents there so that we are better able to meet their needs.

There are many different ways we present the love of Jesus to the residents of Woodland Nursing & Rehabilitation. Some members of the Senior Care Ministry visit one-on-one with a person at Woodland Nursing & Rehabilitation on a weekly basis, while others simply walk the halls visiting with any and everyone. Also, there are a couple of members of this ministry that facilitate Bible Studies in small groups on a weekly basis. To celebrate the birthday of each resident at Woodland Nursing & Rehabilitation the Senior Care Ministry has a team of people that take a card and a craft made by the children in our Rainbows Ministry to the birthday person on their special day. We count it a great privilege to be able to serve there and we look forward to many more possibilities for ministry there.
