Envisioning the next chapter of Church On The Rock

Our three year campaign to invest in our next home, next leaders, and next mission.

THE MISSION

COTR started small, in a living room inside a duplex. From there, we moved to a borrowed room at the Lion's Club, then into a building we could finally call our own. Nearly 30 years later, the heartbeat hasn't changed. We reach the people others overlook. Families rebuilding. People coming out of prison. The hurting, the lost, the ones who never thought church was for them.

The church has fed over 10,000 people through 29 years of Thanksgiving outreach. We raised $140,000 in a single service to buy a home for men in recovery. We provided a car for a family facing early-onset Alzheimer's right when they needed it most. Church on the Rock (that’s you!) is a church that makes an impact.

That same spirit sent us beyond Woodland, to Mexico, the Philippines, India, Colombia, and next, Guatemala in 2027.

Nearly thirty years in, the call hasn't changed. Just the size of the room.

 
 

THE MOMENT

Here's the honest reality. Right now, our location limits how we serve our community. We have no outdoor space for our kids to play, we don't own the building, and several significant renovations will soon fall to us just to maintain the current location.

Instead, we see an opportunity to invest in a home that amplifies the ministry impact we can have both inside and outside its walls.

Our staffing tells the same story. For years, Pastor Jim has been our pastor and our janitor, leading people in faith on Sunday and fixing the sprinklers on Monday. As our ministry grows, so does the opportunity to invest in the people who can help us serve well: someone dedicated to caring for our facilities, and a pastor focused entirely on discipling our children and students from birth through high school. These roles won’t simply lighten the load. They’ll expand the ministry we’re able to offer.

As a church, we've been asking God what's next. We believe He's answering.

 

THE FOCUS

Total Campaign Goal: $600,000

  • A place we can call our own.

    This is the largest piece of the investment, going toward the purchase and renovation of a permanent home at 1405 Cottonwood St.

  • Built for lasting impact.

    Right now, a few people carry a heavy load. A dedicated facilities role and a full-time student ministries pastor mean our leaders can lead, and our kids get someone whose whole job is investing in them.

  • Church plants and missions.

    Five church plants and missions support that keep COTR sending, not just gathering, including our 2027 trip to Guatemala.
